Our Vision is to create a world where women feel safe, strong, and free in the outdoors and within themselves.
Our Mission is to create inclusive, affordable, and educational programs that center women, who remain underrepresented in outdoor spaces. We welcome women of all backgrounds and identities, and we also offer select coed experiences to increase access to the outdoors in our wider community.
Our programs prioritize safety, accessibility, and connection. Through guided hikes, backcountry trips, and outdoor education, we support physical and mental well-being, expand access to nature, and cultivate a lifelong relationship with the land—and with each other.
Our Core Values
We exist to reclaim space for our confidence, our voice, our agency, our sisterhood, and for our connection to the wild. We believe that every woman deserves access to the transformative power of nature, not just for the sake of adventure, but for our mutual healing, growth, and purpose.
In a world that would have us women remain small, quiet, and afraid, we choose to forge our own trail. We choose courage, community, and that deeply-rooted power that awakens when women move through wild places together. We choose to remember who we are.
Code of Conduct
At Way Out Wild, we’re building more than outdoor experiences. We’re building a brave, kind, and connected community. Our Code of Conduct ensures every adventure, class, and gathering is rooted in respect, inclusion, and safety.
01
Respect Each Other: Treat all participants with kindness, dignity, and compassion. No gossip, bullying, or exclusion.
02
Honor the Outdoors: Follow Leave No Trace principles, respect wildlife, stay on trail, pack out trash, and follow park rules.
03
Choose Courage with Consent:
Show up bravely, but never pressure others. Always ask before offering advice, taking photos, or sharing stories.
04
Come Prepared:
Read event details, bring required gear, communicate openly, and take responsibility for your safety.
05
Stay Grounded (Substance-Free): All events are drug- and alcohol-free unless otherwise approved in advance. We focus on presence and clarity.
06
Uplift the Collective: Way Out Wild is a shared experience. We believe in building each other up, sharing trail tips, celebrating achievements, and being inclusive, especially of beginners.
