About the event
Difficulty Rating: HARD
This hike is TRAINING for our Big Mountain Series: Six-Pack of Peaks — Way Out Wild Edition
For this adventure, we’re heading up the Slide Mountain Trail, a quieter but demanding San Gabriel Mountains climb that steadily gains elevation through forested sections before opening up to expansive high-country views. The grade stays consistent with long uphill stretches and minimal flat recovery, making it a strong endurance builder and great mental training day.
This hike is part of our training for the Big Mountain Series, designed to help hikers build the stamina, pacing, and uphill efficiency needed for bigger objectives ahead.
Way Out Wild Difficulty Ratings
E (Easy) - Suitable for anyone who enjoys walking and is a beginner at hiking. Mostly level or with a slight incline. Generally, less than 4 miles.
